Art and Graphic Design History Assignment
1. Research the overall history of art. This can include mixed media and multi-media. Look for special influences on graphic artists. Find your favorite artists. Bookmark them.
2. Look through at least 5 books which outline the artists of the past.
3. Research on the Internet
4. Choose 5 famous artists or graphic designers or photographers and create a short power point on each of the five artists. Each powerpoint should include the following points and each powerpoint should include a minimum of ten images created by the artist. Make sure that each powerpoint presentation is only about one artist. This means you must make 5 separate powerpoint presentations with a minimum of ten images per powerpoint.
5. Present your findings to the class. Show your powerpoint presentations and prepare anything you are going to say on cue cards. The following is an outline for both your research and your presentation.

/2 b) Dates that he/she lived and worked
/1 c) Place - Country of work and city
/5 d) Biography - The life history as a child, student and an artist
/5 d) Objective - What did this artist try to accomplish through his/her work?
/5 e) Explain the type of work he/she did?
/5 f) Why was their work worth discussing and viewing? How did they contribute to the field of art?
/5 g) Do you think their work is successful? Why or why not? How has the study of these individuals contributed to your own art work?
Each powerpoint will be marked out of /10. The total powerpoint presentation mark is /50
